The holes have restricting internal “nipples” which will grip either fiction or latch grip burs, but allow easy insertion and removal.
The holes are through and through to allow drainage of residual water and the material allows repeatable ultrasonic cleaning and or autoclavability.
The alphabetical coding allows the practice to set up their own layout of proceedure requirements to suit their own working style. This can be recorded using the alphabetical coding to allow the auxillary staff to layout the proceedure’s drill bits specific to the individual dentist.
We suggest that each row of the setup be duplicated on each block so at any time there is two of each bur on the stand.
If the dentist feels unhappy with the efficiency of an individual bur from the first row, he can discard the faulty bur and use the fresh bur from the second row.
The nurse can then visually see which bur needs to be replaced and the missing bur can be matched from stock.
Lack of need for “retaining” lids allows easy visualisation and access of the chosen layout for the systematic bur selection.
