SpectroShade Introduction

With the modern demands of Aesthetic dentistry, the need for accurate reproduction of colour is critical to many dental procedures.

Whether a single crown, or a partial denture the accurate reproduction of the aesthetics of the surrounding teeth depends on many factors.

The shape, the surface characteristics of texture and contour (micro and macro contours), but the “colour” of the tooth depends on the balance of the hue, the chroma, value, opalescence and  translucency.

In turn these are influenced by the ambient light in both surgery and laboratory. The challenge to the restorative dentist is to standardize these variables both in the practice and work with the laboratory to produce a predictable environment for accurate “colour” reproduction.
 
THE NEW MHT SPECTROSHADE MICRO can be used for consistent and re-producable determination of:

• Shade of teeth prior to placement of composites.
• Teeth to be crowned, veneered for communication with laboratory.
• Restorations in the laboratory can be confirmed before they are returned to the dentist.
• Natural teeth before and after bleaching. 

Giving predictable standardized results independent of the ambient light used. Kept digitally for reference and clinical use – laboratory communication and legal documentation.

The new SpectroShade Micro is portable,  can be carried from surgery to surgery, and is compatible with Windows and Mac platforms.

It can be used for most shade guides and manufactureres, eg. Vita Claasical, Vita 3D, Ivoclar with additional Transluscency map.
